This cultivar has no established name, but is the only sectoral-variegated cultivar of the species. Tinantia pringlei is commonly known as Mexican or spotted wandering dude.
It is not a Tradescantia, but in the same family – Commelinaceae. Often mislabelled as tradescantias and was sold to me as a Tradescantia, but it wasnt!.
Note - This plant has very colourful foliage of fresh green with splodges / spots to brighten up any room as a hanging or trailing indoor plant. The common name of Wandering Dude is derived from the its ability to easily root and thrive in different environments.
The plant is quite fast growing and will quickly generate new growth. Pinch out older brown leaves regularly to keep the plant looking tidy.
I have a plant passport - ALL online sellers should have one - Plant passports ensure that plants and plant products are traced throughout the supply chain and declares compliance with plant health requirements.
